Military Service

I became a paratrooper to continue the tradition of elite military service started by my Father. I first wore a maroon beret in 1985 when I was a paratrooper on active duty in Italy. I retired my beret for many years after I completed my active duty service.

My former partner pleaded with me to wear it again when she found an old Army photo of me in my beret. She thought it looked sexy and she knew how proud I was of my military service.

I wear it in honor of my service and for what the airborne beret stands for.

It has become a signature item like the black-rimmed eyeglasses of Clark Kent and the S logo of Superman. I get different reactions from people. Some women and a lot of gay men find it very sexy. I am almost forced to have it on at all times when at events.
